| Miranova has developed a product line for the industrial motion control industry, from simple voltage level translation to complex functions such as non-integral counting. In addition to our standard products, we also offer a number of custom solutions (contact us with your application).
EI-300 Series Encoder Interface System This series of boards offers signal translation for a single encoder. Includes voltage translation, single-ended/differential signal conversion, analog output and a variety of digital functions. Although not recommended for new designs (see EI-700 series), these products are still fully supported. EI-401 Four Encoder Interpolation Counter The EI-401 accumulates count information from four optical encoders. All four encoders are captured simultaneously upon a trigger event derived from the vertical sync pulse of a standard video signal or from a TTL pulse source. Interpolation of standard incremental encoders is 1, 2, or 4. With an analog encoder, interpolations range from 8 to 248. This means that with a 5,000 count analog encoder, the user has a maximum counts per revolution of 1,240,000. SE-500 Series Serial Output Encoders This line of serial encoders is designed with internal circuitry to handle all quadrature decoding, counting and serial interface functions. This innovative technology eliminates complicated interface and counting electronics. The SE-500 responds to simple two character ASCII coded commands with a variety of internal parameters, counter registers and help information. Anyone can install and access this encoder with a computer serial port. EI-700 Series Encoder Interface Module The EI-700 Encoder Interface Module offers a variety of encoder translation functions in a compact (3” x 3.5” x 3”) and rugged industrial package. With the EI-700, the systems integrator or industrial designer can solve many common interface problems and enhance existing encoder performance in control and measurement systems, while making the signals more compatible or useful in your application. A wide input voltage range (3-30VDC) requires no specialized power supply in most systems. Power input is current limited and reverse voltage protected. Output line drivers are current limited and thermal shutdown protected. Signal voltage level and single-ended/differential selection are configurable in the field. Stand-off or DIN rail mount. Omnicoder™ Non-Integral Encoder While packaged in an industry standard shell, the Omnicoders’™ proprietary features prove to be anything but standard. Outputs ranging from 0.001 to 4999.999 counts per revolution allow unparalleled versatility over any other encoder. Accurate to nearly one arc minute with a high frequency response of 125 KHz suits most applications requiring speed and precision. Omnicoder functions can also be packaged in an EI-700 package, allowing non-integral countdown from existing encoders. MC-4A Four Channel Multi-Mode Counter Card The MC-4A Multi-Mode Counter Board plugs into an 8 bit expansion slot of an IBM-PC XT, 286 or higher, giving the user the ability to count DC to 8 MHz signals in either up/down, binary, binary coded decimal, 24 hour clock, divide-by-N, X1 or X2 or X4 quadrature and single cycle modes. Because the MC-4A has user selectable jumpers, it is extremely flexible in its ability to change I/O address, digital filter setup, interrupt selection and chip configuration. The BF-1D will pass all forward motion pulses a single encoder and block all pulses resulting from backward movement. If any backward movement has occurred, all subsequent forward counts will be blocked until the backward movement has been compensated. In other words, all machine backlash will be compensated for and only forward progress from the encoder will be passed to the control system. |
